Renowned spiritual leader and Imam of Dargah Hazratbal, Maulana Sayeed Ahmad Farooqi, breathed his last on Monday following a brief period of illness. Having presided over prayers at Dargah Hazratbal for more than two decades, Maulana Farooqi’s demise marks a significant loss for the community.
Maulana Syeed Ahmad Farooqi, a revered figure in the Hazratbal area, succumbed to his illness in the late afternoon, as reported by news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The prominent cleric’s passing has left a void in the hearts of many who looked up to him for guidance and spiritual solace.
The family of Maulana Sayeed Ahmad Farooqi has announced that his Nimaz-e-Jinaza, the funeral prayer, will be held at 9 PM subsequent to the Isha prayers. The serene lawns of Dargah Hazratbal will serve as the venue for the final rites, where his devotees and well-wishers will have an opportunity to pay their respects.
