Indian National Killed in Kuwait Power Plant Strike

An Indian national has died in Kuwait after an Iranian strike targeted a power and water desalination plant, according to reports from the country’s state-run KUNA news agency. The incident occurred at a service building within one of the nation’s critical infrastructure facilities.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy confirmed damage to a facility. Officials described the event as a “brutal attack,” though the specific plant that was hit has not been identified.

The ministry spokesperson, Fatima Jawhar Hayat, stated that the strike resulted in the death of a worker of Indian nationality. Following the incident, technical and emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the site. Their objective was to contain the situation and manage the aftermath, adhering to the ministry’s established emergency plan.

Hayat further elaborated that specialized teams are currently working to secure the affected facilities. This process involves close coordination with security authorities and other relevant governmental agencies. Despite the damage, the ministry assured that the operational efficiency of the country’s electricity and water network remains intact.

This event follows a recent incident where an Indian national was among two fatalities in the United Arab Emirates. In that case, debris from intercepted missiles by the UAE’s air defence system fell onto a street.

The escalating tensions in the Gulf region have been attributed to Iran’s retaliatory actions following joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Tehran. These actions appear to have broadened the conflict across the entire Gulf area.
