SRINAGAR: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Gurez has issued a traffic advisory for the Bandipora-Gurez road, mandating strict timings for vehicular movement on April 1. The advisory, subject to fair weather and satisfactory road conditions, outlines specific windows for traffic to ply from both directions.
Traffic Schedule Announced
According to details received by The Chenab Times, traffic originating from the TCP Tragbal will be permitted to move from 9:00 AM, with a strict cut-off time of 1:00 PM. Conversely, vehicles from TCP Kanzalwan will be allowed to commence their journey at 3:00 PM, and this movement will conclude at 4:00 PM.
Restrictions and Safety Measures
The advisory explicitly prohibits the movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) on this route. Furthermore, all vehicles are required to be equipped with and utilize anti-skid chains to ensure safer travel, especially given the potential for challenging road conditions.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) will be responsible for assessing and confirming the road’s status. Traffic will only be permitted to proceed after receiving clearance from the BRO, indicating that the road is safe for passage.
Commuter Advisory
Passengers and drivers planning to travel on the Bandipora-Gurez road on April 1 have been advised to verify the current road status before embarking on their journeys. This can be done by contacting the District Control Room Bandipora or PCR Bandipora. Authorities have stressed the importance of commuters strictly adhering to the outlined guidelines and cooperating with the administration to guarantee the safety of all travelers.
