Ghaziabad: Fire Engulfs Multiple Flats in Indirapuram High-Rise, Rescue Operations Underway

A significant fire broke out at Gaur Green Avenue Apartments in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, on Wednesday, affecting multiple floors of the residential complex and gutting an estimated 10 to 12 flats. Emergency services, including over a dozen fire tenders, were immediately deployed to the scene to combat the blaze and conduct rescue operations.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the fire originated in a flat located on the 11th floor of the building and rapidly spread to adjoining apartments. Firefighting efforts were intensified, and while the flames have largely been brought under control, the extent of the damage to the property is substantial.

Residents of the building were evacuated in a swift operation, with many vacating their homes amid concerns for their safety. Early reports indicate that no fatalities have occurred as a result of the fire. However, several individuals have been transported to nearby hospitals for observation and treatment, including an elderly man who was reportedly on oxygen support and was rescued from the affected area on a stretcher.

The fire department official stated that fire tenders were dispatched from Vaishali, Sahibabad, and Noida to assist in dousing the flames. The coordinated efforts of multiple fire units were crucial in preventing further escalation of the incident.

The cause of the fire is under preliminary investigation. While initial assessments suggest an electrical fault might be the reason behind the outbreak, authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause. A thorough inquiry will be conducted to ascertain the circumstances that led to the massive fire.

The incident highlights the potential dangers associated with fires in high-rise residential buildings and the importance of robust safety measures and prompt emergency response. The community in Indirapuram has been advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or potential hazards.

Further updates on the investigation and the rehabilitation of affected residents are expected as the situation develops. The swift action by the fire department and local authorities has been credited with mitigating potential loss of life.
