A man and his son were killed on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district on Friday morning when their speeding car collided with the rear of a Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the accident occurred around 3:30 am in the Baldev area of Mathura. The car, which was en route from Agra to Noida, struck a roadways bus that was traveling ahead of it. The bus, belonging to the Sultanpur depot, was on its regular route.
According to the Station House Officer of the Baldev police station, Parmhans Pandey, aged 58, a resident of Vikas Kunj Colony in Dibiyapur town of Auraiya district, was traveling to Delhi with his son, Pushpendra alias Bittu, aged 27. They were in a car that reportedly crashed with significant force into the back of the bus.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the front section of the car was heavily mangled. Both Parmhans Pandey, who was driving the vehicle, and his son Pushpendra died at the scene of the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the crash may have been caused by excessive speed and the possibility of the driver dozing off while on duty.
Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations and have informed the family members of the deceased. The bodies are expected to be handed over to the family after the autopsy is completed. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into all aspects of the incident to determine the precise cause of the fatal crash.
