A significant financial disbursement of Rs 1.07 crore has been provided to 237 registered construction workers in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh. This aid is part of various welfare schemes administered by the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that across the state, a total of approximately Rs 20.61 crore has been disbursed to 4,967 registered workers. This statewide distribution occurred during the state-level Independence Day function on August 15. The district of Chamba alone accounted for Rs 1,07,87,400 of the total assistance allocated under diverse welfare initiatives.
Further details revealed that under the Education Scholarship Scheme, 75 beneficiaries received a combined sum of Rs 23,87,400 to support the education of their children. The Marriage Assistance Scheme benefited 155 workers, who collectively received Rs 78,89,000.
In terms of housing and family support, two workers were provided with Rs 64,000 under the Maternity and Paternity Assistance Scheme. The Prime Minister and Chief Minister Housing Schemes saw three beneficiaries receiving Rs 2.47 lakh. Additionally, two women, identified as beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Widow, Single, Destitute and Disabled Women Housing Scheme, were provided with the second instalment of Rs 2 lakh.
