Jammu and Kashmir Police Attach Properties of Three Proclaimed Offenders in Sopore

Srinagar, March 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore have attached the immovable properties of three individuals declared as proclaimed offenders in connection with a case registered in 2008. The action is part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle the ecosystem supporting terrorism in the region.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the attachment proceedings were carried out by the Sopore Police in collaboration with the Revenue Department in the Nadihal area. The properties belong to Reyaz Ahmad Lone, son of Mukhtar Lone; Aijaz Ahmad Lone, son of Ali Mohammad Lone; and Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, son of Assadullah Shah, all residents of Nadihal.

The attached properties include parcels of land measuring 2 Kanal 16 Marlas belonging to Reyaz Ahmad Lone, 10 Marlas belonging to Aijaz Ahmad Lone, and 2 Kanal belonging to Mushtaq Ahmad Shah. These individuals were declared proclaimed offenders by the court under Section 87 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) after they evaded legal proceedings despite repeated efforts.

The attachment of these properties, carried out in compliance with court orders, involved due verification of land records and local inquiries. The process was completed in the presence of revenue officials and independent witnesses, with all necessary legal formalities observed, a police statement confirmed.

This action underscores Sopore Police’s commitment to enforcing the rule of law and taking stringent measures against individuals involved in activities deemed prejudicial to the security and integrity of the nation. Authorities have reiterated their resolve to continue taking lawful and decisive actions against those engaged in unlawful and anti-national activities.
