A tragic home birth attempt near Uthukuli in Tamil Nadu has resulted in the death of a young woman, identified as Sasikala, due to excessive bleeding. The incident occurred after the woman and her family opted for a natural delivery, reportedly following instructional videos from YouTube instead of seeking professional medical assistance.
The Chenab Times has learned that Sasikala had a previous Caesarean section and was attempting a vaginal birth. The complication arose from a retained placenta, leading to an uncontrolled hemorrhage. Despite being rushed to a hospital, medical intervention proved unsuccessful in saving her life.
The newborn infant, however, survived the ordeal and is currently under medical care. Local police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the home birth and the subsequent death.
