In connection with a fresh case filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), raids were conducted in Srinager, Ganderbal, Achabal, Shopain, Bandipora, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, and other districts in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning.
According to the Kashmir-based news agency Kashmir News Observer, NIA sleuths, in collaboration with the J&K Police and the CRPF, raided the homes of members of Jamaat-e-Islami, a group that was outlawed by the federal government in 2019.
“The agency is conducting searches at a number of locations in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Falah-E-Aam Trust in Nowgam Srinagar and the houses of members of the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami,” he said.
According to him, the NIA has filed a new case against the group.
The raids began in numerous places in the early hours of today, according to the official, and were still ongoing.
