DODA, April 4 – The Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against an individual accused of uploading irresponsible content on a social media platform, the police confirmed on Friday.
In a statement on social media, the police in Doda district urged the public to remain cautious and refrain from sharing or forwarding messages or videos that could incite communal hatred. Authorities assured that legal action would proceed as warranted under the law.
The police action follows protests in Bhaderwah over an objectionable social media post, which triggered tensions in the region. However, the protest was ended after police took action against the individual.
Officials emphasized that law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring social media activity to curb the spread of inflammatory content. “We appeal to all citizens to act responsibly on social media and avoid spreading misinformation or content that could disturb communal harmony,” a police official said.
Authorities have not disclosed details about the suspect or the specific content that led to the FIR. However, they reiterated that strict action would be taken against those found guilty of spreading hate or inciting violence.
